All Begins in the Land of the Avocado
The Swiss founder of Marbacher Green Products, Claudio Marbacher, traveled to Mexico for a spontaneous visit to an avocado plantation and came into contact with the company Biofase®. At this point in time, Biofase® was already producing straws from a compostable biopolymer for Latin America and gave Claudio the crucial idea to help the Swiss gastronomy, event, and retail sector in a sustainable way with these products. A natural manufacturing and disposal process of this material guarantees an almost perfectly ecological and sustainable production and complete biodegradation simply in the household compost. As with any big idea, strategically thought-out planning starts with small steps. As a first step, Marbacher Green Products specializes in the most frequently used plastic products in the catering, event, and retail sectors. Marbacher Green Products is currently pushing ahead with the introduction of sustainable, 100% biodegradable single-use straws and cutlery in accordance with EU regulations, which will apply from early 2021. The very successful market launch in Latin America will lead to further product innovations in the foreseeable future, which will make Marbacher Green Products accessible to the European markets.
